Avast User Interface History From v4.8 to 2016
Avast will soon release a new version 2016 with the completely redesigned user interface. We…
After almost a month since the last beta version of Avast 2017, Avast is finally releasing the expected final version of Avast Antivirus 2017. And it really exceeds all our expectations as the product is visually mature and loaded with features. Yet still extremely light on the system resources, so you won’t tell any difference in terms of performance whether you have it installed or not.
Probably the best in the new version is the anti-ransomware protection build into the Behavior Shield. Ransomware (type of malware which encrypts your data and you need to pay hackers to decrypt them) is still on a massive raise and with the new Avast you are fully protected.
As always you can try the new version completely for free, including the premium products Pro Antivirus, Internet Security and Premier. If you are not interested in the details, you can go directly to download links.
As you can see from the screenshots below the new Avast 2017 is very different compared to the current version. The user interface is no longer white and orange, but rather dark blue and purple. Overall the user interface is very modern, light and clean. The only thing which feels like it doesn’t belong there is the white banner at the bottom of the home screen.
Also the whole interface is much bigger compared to the current one. The new one is 1010 x 674 pixels while the old one is only 802 x 562 pixels.
For more information about the program update, checkout our full guide on ‘How to Update Your Avast Antivirus 2017 for Free‘. Alternatively you can download the latest installer from the official Avast servers using the links below.
You can install the latest version on the top of your current one. There is no need to uninstall it first.
Although we have used Avast Free Antivirus 2017 Beta screenshots in this article, new version is available for all Avast Antivirus solutions (i.e. also for Avast Pro Antivirus, Avast Internet Security, or Avast Premier).
Avast 2017 should be compatible with all Windows versions – Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
Please note it’s still just a beta version and probably contains lot of bugs. We recommend installing it on the Virtual Machine.
