Avast scored extremely well in the recent AV-Comparatives Real World Protection Test for April 2016. It has almost 100% detection rate (99.5%) and no false positives at all. That means it is the best rated free product as other vendors who scored slightly better, submitted their premium versions to the test (Kaspersky Internet Security,  BitDefender Internet Security, AVG Internet Security and Avira Antivirus Pro). Avast version participated in this test was Avast Free Antivirus 2016.11.2.

This is a really great result and huge improvement from the beginning of the year when Avast was scoring quite low (around 97-98%) with decent amount of false positives detected. Hopefully the trend will continue and we will see our ‘good old Avast’ with 100% detection rate.

The AV-Comparatives Real World Protection Test is probably the most comprehensive and intense antivirus test on the market as it tests all vendors in the real environment against real threats. You can see the actual results of all participating vendors on the chart below or at the AV-Comparatives Results Page.

My name is Paul and I love Avast since the Home Edition v4.8 (2008). I am recommending it to all my friends, but I realized they don't know how to use it. So I started this site in order to help others getting maximum from this awesome antivirus. Feel free to contact me via Facebook, comments below or this form.
