AVAST Releasing Paid-for Mobile Security – avast! Mobile Premium
After releasing a free version of avast! Mobile Security in December 2011, AVAST releases also…
Few days ago Avast made SafeZone Browser available within the free version (Free Antivirus). It means every new installation of Avast will now include SafeZone Browser component. Apparently Avast also automatically installed SafeZone on desktop of current users without letting them know.
SafeZone Browser is a fully functional web browser from Avast with focus on security. Actually it is supposed to be the most secure browser on the market. Besides top notch security it offers useful features like Pay Mode, Ad Blocker and Video Downloader. According to our performance test, it’s just slightly slower than Chrome and way faster than Firefox or Internet Explorer.
We have put together two guides on how to download and uninstall SafeZone:
Avast SafeZone Browser – Shortcuts (Starting) Page
The previous SafeZone feature which was part of the premium products is now gone and replaced by the SafeZone Browser. Of course with the major difference that nowadays it’s completely free and it doesn’t contain any way of up-selling.
Unfortunately SafeZone can’t be installed as a standalone application and you can install it only as a part of Avast antivirus. Also you can’t add any custom plugins or add-ons, you have to use the pre-installed one. But that’s a price for the high level of security.
