Few days ago Avast has released a beta version of Avast Cleanup, the PC optimization and cleaning tool. Cleanup is currently available as a component in all Avast antivirus versions (Free Antivirus, Pro Antivirus, Internet Security and Premier), but it’s a premium feature which costs $20 a year. Only a scan is free, but you need to pay to actually fix the issues. If you are not interested in the product details, you can go directly to download links.

But the new beta version works as a standalone application, which means you don’t need to have Avast antivirus installed. And what’s best the beta is completely free (14-day trial actually), so you can use it to clean and speed-up your computer running on Windows. We have tested on a computer running on Windows 10 and it worked smoothly. Plus we really like the new “blue” design.

Compared to the current Cleanup it also contains some new features. Complete list of features includes:

  • Cleaning – Cleans browser cache, history and cookies. Junk files which are not used. Bad add-ons from browser
  • Optimization – Optimizes registry, startup and system settings to significantly lower Windows boot-times
  • Scheduling – You can schedule fully automatic scans to keep your computer in shape
  • Real-time Monitoring – Automatically cleans leftovers when uninstalling programs. Unfortunately this is not working in the beta version

Later with the public release the only free features will be scanning and cleaning browser add-ons. To get the rest you would need to pay for the premium version.

My name is Paul and I love Avast since the Home Edition v4.8 (2008). I am recommending it to all my friends, but I realized they don't know how to use it. So I started this site in order to help others getting maximum from this awesome antivirus. Feel free to contact me via Facebook, comments below or this form.
