Avast has released a third program update called Avast Antivirus 2015 R3 SP1. Build version is 2015.10.3.2224. As always with Avast, you can update to the latest version completely for free. Initially only the R3 update has been released but due to some fixes another update has been released approximately week later.

New update contains a lot of great stuff. Especially the redesigned GrimeFighter which is now called Avast Cleanup and is much faster and stable. Full list of changes includes

  • NEW Other Antivirus Scan – Smart Scan now includes compatibility scan for other antivirus software and optional easy removal
  • NEW Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) – Monitors a single host for suspicious activity by analyzing events occurring within that host
  • IMPROVED Windows 10 Compatibility – Compatibility with the latest Windows 10 has been improved
  • IMPROVED HTTPs Scanning for Windows XP/Vista – HTTPs scanning is now available also for the Windows XP/Vista

You can update your Avast directly from the program interface by going to ‘Settings‘ » ‘Update‘ » ‘Program‘ » ‘Update‘. Usually Avast also prompts you with the pop-up notification to update.
